A young woman has been charged with murder in Narok County courts after she was arrested for abandoning her newborn on a river bank and left it to the dogs.
The 27 year old woman from Melelo, in Narok County said that inability to take care of the child led her to do this cruel thing. She opted to give the dogs the meat instead of having more burden than she already has.
According to the area Police boss, Samuel Mukindia, the body of the newborn which 98% had been eaten by dogs was discovered by residents who had gone to River Salanga yesterday morning and they called the police.
They caught the woman and she confessed to the crime saying that she could not raise the poor baby on her own.
She is currently in remand awaiting the verdict.
