Amos Kimunya emerged top of his class during USIU 36th graduation held on Saturday the 23rd of August. The former Finance minister, who was also among graduates from Germany, Australia, Mexico plus twenty seven other countries, graduated with a GPA of 4.0 (the highest grade in higher learning) in Global Executive MBA.
Among the the graduates was Kisumu West MP Shakeel Ahmed and Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission vice chairperson Irene Keino.
While addressing the new graduates at the commencement of the ceremony, USIU Vice Chancellor Prof. Freida Brown was concerned with the rising status of the African, saying that Africa requires graduates with the international orientation and the high quality education to meet the needs of fast – growing economies.
Education Cabinet Secretary Professor Jacob Kaimenyi who attended the ceremony as the chief guest, urged the university to scale up its doctorate programmes in order address the increasing demand in higher education.
Kaimenyi also praised the University for supporting people living with disabilities, urging every learning institution to have a disability policy and programs.
