Former Tahidi High, Makutano Junction & Machachari Director Loses Battle With Cancer

From  an interview he had with People Daily, he only found out about the disease last month(September), after stomach pains turned into an abdominal inflammation, so it must have been noticed too late.

Aswani has directed several high-profile TV productions in Kenya, including Tahidi High, Makutano Junction, Machachari, Mashtaka, Mama Duka and Auntie Boss.
His final interview with the People two weeks ago was illustrative of his poor health. He spoke of how the illness was so far off that medication wasn't working, and the doctor advised he doesn't do any chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Aswani ended up in a hospice where they just gave him only hope. He said, "I am not scared. I believe that God sends to us sickness to test our faith and I believe that I will come out of it strong. I am a strong Muslim, and the Koran says ‘I will send unto you diseases so I may test you’."

Omfwoko leaves behind his lovely wife, Halima. He was 34 years old. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
