Mombasa County Commissioner, Nelson Marwa, has warned politicians funding radicalization of Muslim youths in Mosques that their days are numbered.
Speaking yesterday, Marwa revealed that politicians from Kisauni Constituency with an eye fixed on 2017 elections are the ones behind radicalization of Muslim youths at Coast.
He noted that the politicians in question are using drug money to do their dirty job, noting that the politicians give the youths some drugs before radicalizing them with an aim of using them to terrorize their opponents in 2017.
Separately, Interior Cabinet Secretary, Joseph Ole Lenku, also linked the radical youth to Al-Shabaab terrorists and local political networks.
This comes even as 4 people, including a local pastor, were reportedly killed by the very radical youths as a revenge for the raid on Mosques, where one youth was shot dead by the police and 251 others arrested.
During the raid, several weapons, including grenades, machetes, pistols and CD manuals for training on the use of small arms were also recovered.
