A new footage has been aired by Citizen TV showing how their journalists were attacked by GSU officers, in what appears to be a serious assault on innocent journalists.
About 3 weeks ago Nehemiah Okwembah of NTV and Rueben Ogachi of Citizen TV travelled to Tana River County to check on locals who had claimed they had been attacked by GSU officers.
Following the incident, Cabinet Secretary for Internal Security and Coordination of National Government, Joseph Ole Nkaissery, and the Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinett, defended the officers and said that the two journalists attacked by GSU officers had provoked them.
But the Video evidence captured during the incident tells a totally different story.The officers attacked the journalist without even asking them anything. The footage shows the GSU officer pulling out the journalist and beating them.
