A Nairobi CID officer based at the Kayole police station killed himself after firing several times at neighbors in Nyayo estate on Monday.
The neighbors who reported the incident said the officer attempted to kill the wife and his two kids but failed after they managed to run away from the house.
According to Apolo Wanyonyi who is the area police boss, the motive is still unknown but investigations are underway to establish what led to it.
A neighbor who narrated the story said that it all started when the officer started quarreling with his wife over an alleged love affair with another woman.
