The national assembly on Thursday approved Patrick Ngugi Njoroge as the new governor of Central bank of Kenya.
Njoroge will now succeed Njuguna Ndung’u whose tenure in office ended in March this year. During the approval process in parliament, there was a heated debate on why Njoroge is 54 years old and still a bachelor, however some section of the members of parliament saw it foolish to meddle in someone's personal life.
The new CBK governor is expected to begin his duties immediately with Sheila M’Mbijiwe as Deputy and Mohamed Nyaoga as Chairman.
