Any online based business is good and lucrative, including blogging but that doesn’t give any soul the effrontery to sore where they did not plant.
A couple of weeks ago, a popular Kenyan blogger, Cyprian
Nyakundi and his ‘partner in crime’ Xtian Dela were exposed trying to siphon
kes 50 M from Bidco, a leading oil refinery in Kenya.
Cyprian Nyakundi had written ‘investigative’ articles that
painted Bidco as Land grabbers in Uganda. Cyprian and his accomplice tried to
blackmail Bidco to pay 50m for him to delete and do away with the articles.
Good deal gone sour. Bidco decided to take legal measures.
Here is what the report read:
pending hearing and determination of this application, a mandatory
injunction be issued to last up to 10th September 2015 directed at each of the
defendants compelling them, by themselves to erase and remove their various
posts, websites blogs or their other forms of electronic and social media any form
or nature the said defamatory words, statements or content or any similar words
or statements or content of like effect relating to the Platiffs herein.’
The suit by Bidco comes scarcely two months after Cyprian
was sued by Safaricom over defamatory articles
