Shocking: Kenya Ferry Services risks the lives of 300,000 Kenyans daily by using old vessels

A report from the Senate reveals that the KFS uses vessels that are unsafe risking the lives of 300,000 Kenyans and 6000 motorists daily.

It is reported that the vessels MV Kilindini, MV Kwale,MV Nyayo, MV Harambe and MV Likoni do not meet the international standard of vessels as required.

Mutula Kilonzo Junior claims that MV Harembe, MV Kilindini and MV Nyayo were bought in 1990s and that MV Harambee is so old that it is rusty. He goes on to say that it seems fishy that MV Hrambe was restored at Ksh 157 million. He calls out for more investigations on the probe.
