An elderly woman has been arrested on charges of murder after allegedly killing her husband and cooking her body parts, police in France said.
According to Longwy Police Department the 71-year-old woman was arrested last week, after being accused of cooking her 80-year-old husband’s heart, nose and genitals.
According to the police findings, the retired woman beat her husband to death with a kitchen utensil used to grind the spices. She later cooked parts of his flesh in a pot in the kitchen.
Police did not say if the woman ate the body parts. According to the suspect's lawyer, the woman suffers from delusions.
“Obviously, this was done in a fit of craziness,” the lawyer said. The lady is being held in the psychiatric unit of a prison.
A magistrate ordered a psychiatric evaluation to determine of the woman can stand trial.
