Kenya Cabinet secretary for devolution and planning Hon. Anne Waiguru yesterday decided to join the Kibera youth and the NYS in the Kibera Upgrading Initiative.
The initiative aims at managing solid waste in the slums, unblocking drainage systems and clearing and paving the roads in all regions of nairobi and other urban settlements. The program will take three months and will cover all the villages before it is rolled out to other informal settlements in the country.
The initiative will also employ more than 3000 youths from Kibera alone.
