The growing popularity of Kenya’s Ghetto radio has seen it cross the borders to neighbouring Tanzania.
According to Bongo 5, the sheng’ station has established a sister station in Dar es Salaam which will go by the name Ghetto FM. Preparations are said to be well underway and the station will go on air anytime soon.
Ghetto radio is popular in the country for it’s association with the youth and sheng’ and it remains to be seen whether they will take the same approach in the Swahili speaking country.
