Grace Msalame writes a Letter to President Uhuru After Having Sleepless Night

After the Garissa attack, Many patriotic citizens have been coming up with possible solutions for the future of their nation. One such is renowned presenter Grace Msalame, who according to her, she hasn't been sleeping well after the horror attack that happened last week.

To express her feelings on the matter, she wrote a letter to president Uhuru Kenyatta to try and reason with him on the future of this country. Here is the letter

A letter I penned down Friday Morning when I couldn’t sleep…

Dear Mr.President, I may not have voted for you, but I respect the Highest Public Office that you hold, and out of that Respect this is my plea as a Citizen of our Great Nation that was fortunate to have Peace for decades but is now under constant attack and in fear for a worse tomorrow.
Sir let’s please shift focus from all the Great Grand plans & put the Security of this Country at top most priority or there will be no one left to benefit from all the Strides we continue to make as a Nation.

It breaks my heart to think that my Children could grow up in a Nation that has Curfews, that is divided by religion, that is every man for himself to the point that every home owns a gun for protection…

This is all but a life of FEAR!! Constant FEAR!! A year ago I lost a colleague & a Friend… Now we have lost 147 innocent Kenyans. Sir it’s time to leave Kismaayo & stop fighting a war that is not our own, it is time to stop fighting our neighbors, it is time to put the Citizens of this Nation before everything else.

Respectably, GM
Kenyan Citizen

Kismayu nayo hatutoki!! No country shows act of fear. we will bombard their territory untill they have nowhere to hide then KDF will skin and butcher the alshabaab clans. Your letter is expression of emotions but pulling out KDF is an act of fear and we as a country has the power to thrush alshabaab out plus all its somali affiliates

I agree, the only way to finish the terrorist group is to attack them in their own stronghold

Great advice and concern Grace but this will not be a solution, instead this will invite the terror to the country's door steps. The KDF's present in Kismayo is a deterrent to their active attacks in Kenya. Kenya should use all the might in their position to thrush the al Shabaab strong holds and their operations

What will be next after we leave Kismayu? This well organised government with structures they don't have. Even if it is to use any lethal means to keep them at bay let it be

The concern is noted Grace but honestly, the solution is not to put our tail between our legs and run. That will be the interpretation of leaving Kismayo. These people need metal to be met with metal, blood with blood and fire for fire. Kenyans should also not just keep running scared everytime they hear alshabab. 4 people holding a whole university hostage? even if the students ganged up and took stones, they could have given these people a rough time, students have previously fought kenyan police on the roads for days. If it means each Kenyan family owning a gun, then so be it.
