10 Home Remedies for Acne


Acne is one of the most common skin problems in the world. It affects people at any age and all races and in all regions. Although there are some factors to consider like race, and the kind of fook and environment you live in, Acne is still the same and has the same kind of remedies.

Apart from increased hormone levels in the body, Acne can also be cause by other things, including too much stress, Sleep deprivation, unhealthy eating plus a few other lifestyle factors.

Whatever the cause is, here are some home remedies you can use to manage and treat your Acne.


1. Lemon Juice

Take a piece of clean cotton or soft cloth, soak it in the lemon juice and then apply it to the pimples before going to bed each night


Alternatively, you can mix one tablespoon of lemon juice with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and apply it on the pimples each night and morning, then wash the skin well with  warm water.

2. Tea Tree Oil

The procedure is almost similar to the lemon juice one, just take a cotton ball and dip it in the tea and gently apply it on the affected area.

Another option would be to mix Aloe vera with a few drops of the tea, apply the affected area then leave if for about 20 minutes before rinsing.

3. Toothpase

yes, you heard me right. Using tooth paste is also an effective  way of completely getting rid of ance.

Just apply some toothpaste to affected area of your skin before going to bed, when you wake up in the morning, wash the area gently with luke warm water.

4. Steam 

Steam is also an effective way of eliminating acne


Bring water to a boil
Fill it in a large container and allow the steam to come in contact with your face for about 10 minutes.
Rinse your face with water, dry it and apply oil-free moisturizer.
5. Garlic 

Garlic is known to contain some of the best medicinal ingredients than many plants, from antiseptic to anti-fungal, it is a great natural remedy for acne.

Cut a fresh garlic clove into two or three pieces.
Rub the it on the affected area and leave it for five minutes before washing the skin with lukewarm water.
Repeat the process several times a day.

6. Baking Soda


Mix one teaspoon of baking soda with lemon juice or  water.
Wash your skin well, leaving it slightly damp. Apply the mixture on the affected areas and allow it to dry for a few minutes. You should never leave  baking soda on your skin for longer than a few minutes as it can cause dryness or irritation.
Rinse your face with warm water.
Repeat the process at east twice a day for quick results.

7. Honey

Dip a clean cotton swab in honey, and apply it directly on the affected area then leave it on for half an hour.
Rinse the skin well with lukewarm water.
Do this two or three times a day.

8. Cucumber

Cucumber is a rich source of vitamins A, E and C which are said to have a cooling effect on the skin.


Slice some cucumbers into pieces and soak them in water for about an hour. The nutrients, such as vitamin A, potassium and chlorophyll will transfer to the water.
Strain the water and use it to wash your face.

9. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is a great antibacterial and anti-fungal, it is a great natural remedy to use for your pimples without affecting your skin.

Apply the coconut oil gently on your skin and rub it two or three times a day.


10. Papaya

Cut raw papaya pieces to extract its juice and apply it over the affected areas. Leave it to sit there for 10 minutes before rinsing it off.
