Veteran Jamaican roots reggae group Wailing Souls will be in Kenya for a few days to stage a concert and hold talks about the stigmatization of HIV/AIDS among youth and adolescents.
The group which members Winston “Pipe” Matthews and Lloyd “Bread” McDonald are also set to visit institutions relevant to HIV/AIDS management and engage with the youth of Nairobi with the aim of sensitizing them on current trends of infection and testing among adolescents.
The group will also perform at the KICC grounds in Nairobi on November 5th, 2016.
“We are very privileged to be in Africa to talk to the kenyan youth about our cause and also stage a performance for the lovers of reggae,” they said.
During the concert, there will also be a free HIV testing and counseling camp.
The group also added that they are big admires of Kenya’s founding president Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.
“We are here in this iconic building and we will be performing right outside of here because we have the utmost respect of president Kenyatta. We don’t know why we took so long to come to Kenya but we are happy we are here now,” they said
